Despite a wind that reached 25 mph at times, it was a warm and dry day with the course looking stunning in an array of autumn green, golds and russets; but there were trees everywhere and often a lot closer than was helpful, not to mention leaves, leaves and more leaves!
Yet again the winner was a ‘new boy’ Mike Vanhelst (6) Bury St Edmunds with 33pts (no camera = no photograph), runner up with 32pts on countback, was Andy Izod (10) Peterborough Milton, third was our host Matthew Bowman (14) King’s Lynn. In fourth place and the final qualifier was Mike Wake (10) Moseley with 31pts. Neil Sjoberg (8) Epping, a previous qualifier, also carded 32pts
Our thanks go to the Captain, Committee and members of King’s Lynn for their very generous hospitality. We hope we did not cause too much disruption?
Our thanks, as always, to our supporters; led on this occasion by Paul Mainstone of Jonas/Clubminder, who made a daytime dash from family duties, Ed Saxel of ispygolf, Andrew Brown of Eagle, and Jezz Ellwood of Golf Monthly. Richard Dancy of Golf Locker Security not only displayed his External LockerGuard, but introduced us to his charming ‘righthand’, Sharn Etherton, who in the absence of Philip Vince of Majestic Crystal, dispensed chocolate with a smile and with not one gadget in sight!
