This year’s final Regional Qualifying Tournament at Royal Ashdown Forest summed up our Autumn, great fun on a great course in great weather, we are extremely fortunate. It was even shirt sleeve order for some. For very nearly mid November conditions were excellent, which in turn was reflected in the scoring, although some of the carries made it extremely difficult for the short and straight brigade.
Congratulations to all those who have now made it through to the Final at Royal St. George’s next May and better luck next time (Tadmarton Heath, April 13th and Royal Birkdale, April 23rd). For those competing for the first time, we hope you enjoyed the experience, come and play again and join the qualifiers?
Our thanks go to David Holmes and is excellent staff at Royal Ashdown, not to mention the Members, Captain and Committee for there generosity in allowing us to return to their testing course and delightful clubhouse, where the catering definitely deserves a gold star.
Our thanks too to the loyal supporters, who make the Championship the success that it is, Phil McInley of Eagle, Barry Gibbs and John Hayes of C C V, Richard Barker of TeeoffTimes and Stefanie Mainstone of Jonas/Clubminder.
