The Golf Operations Assistant is an interesting and varied position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to gain broad operational experience at a premier private members’ golf club. This position is ideal for an aspiring Golf Club Manager starting his or her career in the industry.

Chestfield Golf Club is a private members club located in Whitstable, Kent. Our picturesque course opened in 1924 and is set in 120 acres of beautiful countryside between the Forest of Blean and the coast. The well-appointed clubhouse is the oldest building used as a clubhouse in the world, built in the early 15th century, and provides an opportunity for members and guests to relax and socialise. Great hospitality is part of the tradition of our Club. We pride ourselves on making everyone feel welcome whether they are visiting the Club for the first time or are longstanding members.

Purpose of Position: To support the Chestfield team in delivering the Chestfield Vision: “To create a memorable experience for members and guests both on and off the course by offering a well presented and unrivalled golf course, excellent hospitality and a desire to return”.

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate a proven ability with standard administration software and be able to undertake web and club diary management duties.

In addition to working within the Club office they will be given the opportunity to attend regular management meetings and gain experience in all other departments.

Excellent organisational, inter-personal, planning and prioritising abilities are vital and an understanding of golf will be essential.

Salary: The salary guide is dependent on skills and experience but commensurate with the position and the overall package will include: 5% pension contribution, a staff discount card for food and drink purchases’& 28 day’s holiday including bank holiday’s and access to the course & facilities.

Hours: The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the club roster. This will be a minimum of 40 hours per week including some weekends and bank holidays, throughout the year. Typically, opening hours are 9am to 5pm (earlier or later with events)
